Unlikely fabric sources
Ikea, of all places. I knew they had fabric, I just never considered it. Colin & I were there on Saturday and as we were following the floor arrows, I looked up, and wouldn't you know it, my cart completely veered to the right. On its' own, I might add.
It's a little more contemporary then what I am usually interested in, but as I said, I'm coming out of a Toile stage, and why not go in the complete opposite direction?
The funky red/orange combo is a large print that will most likely become pillows for the family room sometime in the next two years (trying to be realistic); and the blue, well, the blue is something I'm going to try to work with. Hopefully sooner.

I am a big fan of red and orange as a color combo. I've recently seen some magazine articles showing this in rooms and it really appealed to me. Come on.....you can whip those pillows up in no time :-) Rosie

Oh how I wish I could sew, I mean I probably could if I tried, I just do not have the patience. I am in an orange faze now - and would love to make some pillows for the backyard.....

Oh, IKEA fabrics! Lovely! I'm fortunate enough to live very close to an IKEA and I always forget to check for fabric when I visit! I think a Saturday morning IKEA fabric run is on my agenda for the weekend.

Girl, last time I was out there Ikea was on my to-do list - for the fabric!! I'm usually more traditional than modern, but every once in a while I like a little modern kick. I ended up bringing home a few yards. Oh, how I wish there was an Ikea near me!!

I didn't know either until I read it in somebody else's blog very recently. It's been a while since I have been to Ikea, but I think I'm going to have to go. (because I desperately need more fabric :| )

We really should have an ikea in St. Louis! I have never ever been in one and would just love it I already know!

Oh I'm with you on those IKEA fabrics and I've already drooled over the red and orange at the store. Did you see those butterfly pillow covers? Yummy!
Be sure to look at the duvet's and bedding too. They are great to take apart and use for projects!

I've considered IKEA's fabric before. They have good sales sometimes. I was concerned about quality, colorfastness, and durability. Those are great prints! They are usually SO large scale that they would be ideal for drapes.

IKEA is fantastic for fabric. We have not had that range... maybe we won't. But they always have something inspiring.
