One more about the Itty Bitty, and then, I swear, I'll stop.
I'm feeling a little defeated, but I'm finished. I blocked the petals, but they didn't change. Much. They were made with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK, which I would have thought would block, but it didn't. I tried the 'steaming iron with a towel trick' too, nothing. Could it be that they are just too small to make a blocking difference?
I sat down last night determined to finish this, no matter what the outcome. I ran into a problem with the last petal (which was the one with the hole) - there wasn't enough room for the entire petal, so I ended up layering it (which gave me an idea for another Itty Bitty, but I just can't go there right now!).
Okay, that last petal looks like crap.
I seriously considered not giving it to my friend. Why? Because it isn't perfect, and perfection is something I struggle with everyday. But in the end, I decided that I would give it to Baby Daisy, because there are some people in this world that understand handcrafted; and understand that it doesn't always mean perfection, but it does indeed mean love.
And, with all it's imperfections, I do love this Itty Bitty Upside Down Daisy hat. And I do love that little i-cord stem. I wish we all had the nerve to wear hats with i-cord stems.

This itty bitty is adorable! I really cant tell what you are talking about. Sometimes we are our own worse critic! I bet that baby who you where going to give the hat too is suffering right now from a cold head:)

Oh Carrie, no one will notice that imperfection but you - it looks perfect to me! I have no idea what you're talking about when you mention the flaws.

The hat is adorable - very worthy of gift-giving!! Looks like your tulips took this journey with you...weren't they all perky in your first images a couple days ago? C'est la vie!

I think you are being WAY too hard on yourself! It is lovely...and I would wear it!

Carrie, I have enjoyed seeing and reading the saga of this cute little hat. I know that struggle with perfectionism, but it is so cute and now it comes with such a story behind it and lots of love. I bet this will be one of those keepsakes for little Daisy! I love it!

oh Carrie, I think it's fabulous!! And since babies don't knit, I'm sure Daisy will think it's perfect too :)

It's darling. Who needs perfect? Perfect is so overrated!

It's perfectly adorable! That little baby will be the center of attention wherever she goes in that hat. I hope you keep making this pattern.

Despite what you say, I think it is absolutely adorable!! :)
"perfection is something I struggle with everyday"
Same here--you're not alone!! I tend to get frustrated when things aren't perfect, and put projects aside (and conveniently "forget" about them). My hat is off to you for persevering through this particular project! ;)

As the mother of the lucky and oh-so-fashionable recipient, Miss Daisy, I am thrilled to report that I squealed when I open the box and saw this hat. My husband swooned (a very manly swoon of course). When I placed the Itty Bitty on her head, she gave her biggest "I'm gonna like this world" smile and giggled. Carrie - pictures will come soon. Reading about all the work that went onto this (after the fact) makes me just love it all the more. There are certain items that we will be saving for Daisy for when she is older (instead of saving all of her onsies, for example, we are only putting aside aside a couple from each growth stage) - anyway, this will more than make the cut. All my love,Kathleen

Ah, but I love how your petals look softer than they do in the pattern. Makes them look like a rose that hasn't quite opened up. Very sweet!
