A pretty special day...
Yesterday was the first of several holiday boutiques, and what a time was had! Exciting for me, because many of the vendor faces I see are seasonal, but when you hit it off with another person, you really want to see them more and trade stories. The boutique & tea was for the Special Children’s League, which is the fundraising division of United Cerebral Palsy, and 20% was donated to the charity. It’s a fantastic cause, and the attendees are always so generous, it really makes you feel good.
Some of the fabulous vendors that were there included Monica Lewis from Moose & Georgie, who I met last year at a private party we were both selling at and who makes seriously amazing mosaics; My friend Susan DiLeo, who I’ve known for years and sells women’s accessories and outfitted me with a luxurious sweater shawl since I was situated under the air conditioning vent all day and was shaking; Suzy Moore was across from me – I’ve known Suzy for almost 20 years since our husbands work for the same company and our paths have crossed many times. Suzy and her partner own Fowler & Moore, a lovely interior design firm that is growing by leaps and bounds. Suzy, whose Palos Verdes Estates home was featured on a home tour last December, has amazing style and is always so inspiring. Kelley Hart, who I haven’t seen in a year, and was just thinking about, makes the sweetest vintage inspired children’s clothes, using vintage fabrics. Lovely and sweet – and we had tons of catching up to do. Somehow we got on the subject of crafty blogs, which she has just discovered, and it was so fun trading links!
I also had the great opportunity to meet another purse vendor, Sue Turnbull of Indigo Trade. We hit it off immediately, and spent quite a bit of time trading stories, sources and leads while the ladies inside enjoyed their tea. She’s been in business for over 5 years now, has 4 boys (!), and I loved her style! I was really happy to meet her and I hope our paths cross again.
For me, it was a great show and I left there feeling invigorated, validated and inspired once again. I’ll be seeing Kelley, Susan & Suzy again in three weeks at the Cornerstone Boutique, and I can’t wait! There’s just another month of boutiques for me before the season ends; I’m a little relieved, a little sad, but when the time comes, I’m sure I’ll be ready!
I hope you’ll stop by tomorrow – a new apron will be debuting, and it’s a whammy!

Your display looks amazing!!
