Hi - thanks for stopping by! I am the owner of Sommer Designs LLC - I design & create a line of handcrafted women's accessories in my home studio in Southern California. My creations are available on my website, Sommer Designs, select boutiques in the US, and at local craft fairs, events & shows in the Southern California area.

A few things about me:

1. I have an amazing sweet tooth.
2. I swear. A lot.
3. I’m double jointed.
4. I’ve broken my big toe.
5. I don’t like to dance.
6. I’m afraid of the ocean (makes sense too, since I like being near it).
7. I’m a morning person.
8. I love wine. Good wine.
9. I love cheese.
10. I can’t eat or drink anything that is within 2 days of its’ expiration date. Just in case.
11. I don’t like clutter, but I’m bad at staying organized.
12. I collect snowglobes. The cheap, plastic ones you get in the airports. I prefer them to the glass because they’re kitschy.
13. I always bring a compass when I hike in the wilderness, but wonder if I could really use it if I needed to.
14. I wanted to be an art major in college. Since I wasn’t paying for my education, I had to declare Political Science.
15. My eyes are hazel, but turn deep green when I cry.
16. I am the daughter of a survivor.
17. I have never been a waitress.
18. I'd rather have a small group of really close friends, than a lot of friends.
19. I’m really quiet.
20. Until you get to know me.
21. Many people think I’m a snob because of this. But I’m not. At all.
22. I’m afraid of animals that are larger than me.
23. Like horses.
24. I’m dyslexic.
25. I remember the most inane things.
26. It drives my husband crazy.
27. I'm trying to pare down my collections.
28. I love garage sales, estate sales & thrift shops.
29. I think about my online friends during the day.
30. I’ve been lucky enough to meet many of them.
31. I'm a frustrated shopper because it takes so much time, but sometimes I do actually enjoy it.
32. I love coffee.
33. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and start thinking about that first cup of coffee in the morning.
34. There are just three people that know me really well.
35. My husband is one.
36. I love Dansko clogs.
37. When I was 8, I met Edgar Bergen (& Charlie McCarthy) backstage at Magic Mountain.
38. I won’t wear a bathing suit in public anymore.
39. I can’t stand salespeople who hover.
40. I’ve walked out of a store because of it and have written corporate offices to complain about it.
41. I love entertaining at home. Mine or others.
42. I’m thankful every day to be doing what I love.
43. Sometimes I forget how old I am.
44. I finally learned to knit and am infatuated with yarn.
45. Good yarn.
46. I've climbed to the top of Mount Baldy, Mount Baden Powell, Mount San Jacinto and Mount Whitney.
47. My favorite place in the whole world is Mammoth Lakes in the summer.
48. I'm also partial to Bodie - an amazing ghost town just northeast of Mammoth.
49. I love sake.
50. I don't do meme's - please don't tag me!
51. Sometimes, I think I live in my car.
52. That's what happens when you have teenagers.
53. I have three amazing kids.
54. And one amazing husband.
55. I truly believe in surrounding yourself with people who believe in you.
56. I have 2 hilarious dogs - Candy & Gracie; they make us laugh everyday, even when things are low.
57. I can't stand it when people plagairize & copy my 'about' page. Seriously.
